Hi Experts,
Can anybody suggest a coating material (e.g. HVOF)that can protect boiler tubes ST35.8I (A106 GrB)which are exposed to 650 deg C exhaust gas from biomass combustion systems? The tubes are cleaned with a shot ball (steel balls 3 mm) system and therefore the mechanical wear is heavy. Tubes have to be replaves every 6 months. The idea is to coat the 3 first rows of tubes against the mechanical impact of the steel balls. Tube size is between 3-5 in. Coating with inconel 625 would increase the hardness from about 300 to 1000 Vickers hardness but this material is more for corossion problems than for abrasions. Since the flue has gaps are narrow, the coatig should be thin.
Thanks for any sugesstion.
