Hi everyone,
I need to model something with ABAQUS and I'm new to it and need help. I need to model the effects on groundwater levels, of excavating a large space underground(the water levels will be affected because groundwater will flow into that space, which is continually kept empty with pumps).
Here are my questions:
Will standard&explicit be enough, or do I need to use CFD?
How do I set the intial groundwater level(which is already sloping to begin with), and have ABAQUS calculate the resulting groundwater level after the excavation step?
How to remove a chunk of soil(as the excavation step) - (I've seen people mention MODEL CHANGE - REMOVE, but I have no idea how to do that and no one describes explicitly how to do that)
I know these questions probably sound really easy but I'm completely new to ABAQUS and really need help. All and any input would be much appreciated, thank you very much!
