Abaqus - Parametric study (using .psf and .inp files) has unusually long execution time

Hi all,

I have recently attempted to run a parametric study using Abaqus, making use of a .psf script file and a modified .inp file. I am investigating the effects of variation in indenter displacement and axial compressive force on collapse pressure of a pipeline, and I am also measuring the dimensions of the dent resulting from the indentation. I will manually vary axial compressive force to avoid complications. There are 7 values of indenter displacement

The job(s) complete successfully, however each job when done in the parametric study takes around 2.5x longer than when executed using the Abaqus GUI.

I have no idea why, as when I have tested the .psf script (scripting it to run only one job, rather than multiple), the job still takes around 50 minutes. Usually when ran through the GUI the job takes 18 mins or so.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I have attached the files used (.psf file, modified .inp file, and unmodified .inp file for reference). I have not been able to find much about the use of .psf files online, apart from a page on the Abaqus scripting manual, but that does not contain any info relevant to the issue.

Kind regards,

Edward

Compare the output files (sta, msg, dat), check the number of increments, increment size, reported times and so on. Maybe there are convergence issues for some values of the parameters, especially since it's a Riks analysis.

Thanks for your reply. I will do that.

However, the two different values I entered produced two separate jobs, that were ran one after another (taking 45 mins each). If I were to run these jobs with those same values through the Abaqus GUI, then they would only take 20 minutes each. So I think it may be something else.
