I am currently working on a simple continuum model to demonstrate my students the pure shear analysis on an FEA solver.
Only ABAQUS is available to me. So I am using it for the demonstration.
I am using non-linear strains for the analysis and applying shear loads on a 2D square so that it undergoes simple shearing.
In the solver, I want to apply time-dependent shear deformations. How can I do that?
I see displacement boundary conditions are shown as options. But I want to use force boundary conditions. Where can I see these options?
At the end of the day, I want to show them a static analysis to show displacement under pure shear.

In the Load module, apart from boundary conditions, you can also create loads (several types). For each load it’s possible to specify amplitude curve that describes time variation. But you need to add analysis step first before you can define loads.
