Hallo!
I am simulating a pile stabilizing a landslide.I am using Mohr-Coulomb plasticity criterion. There is no water in my model. In some analyses the geostatic step convergenges but in others does not so the analyses end before the completion of the geostatic step. I run some of the aborded analyses using as first step a static general one instead of geostatic. The analyses completed successfully and the results were reasonable.
So,I would like to ask: Is it correct to substitute the geostatic step with a static general? Do I have to write initial conditions (type=stress geostatic) in such an anlysis?
Thank you!
