I am putting together a level of effort for designing a sign bridge that will support a variable message board over a freeway. Does anyone have an estimate of what the design fees should be for this type of structure?

Currently, I am estimating there will be (8) 11x17 sheets and the design will include the steel truss frame, anchorage, and foundation.

You can assume typical 40 hours per drawing i.e. 320 hours total. This shoud cover calculations and drawings.
The price could be reduced if you were using typical drawings, which all DOT have.

wiktor- Thanks for the response. I came up with a little over 200 hours. I will be using the DOT standard details for at least half of the sheets.

bridgebuster-Thanks for the link to NYSDOT. Their manual is far more complete than my state's and this will be a nice reference during design.
