I have a question about the meaning of A20 table A1
I want to know the impact test temprature for a 516-Gr 60N. the thickness is 42 and I asked vendor to test it in -46 C. but Vendor tell that accurding to a20 table A1.15 there is no need to test at -46 and just to be test in -29 (Minimum propcess temp. and site condition).

12.1.5 Test Temperature—The test temperature shall be as specified by the product specification, if applicable, or by the purchaser, except that the manufacturer or processor shall have the option of using a lower test temperature. The actual test temperature used shall be reported with the test results.

Why did you "ask" the vendor (supplier) to impact test at -46 C? If it was in the purchase specifications, the supplier must supply impact testing data meeting minimum specified requirements for the material supplied. Is the minimum design temp -29 C or -46 C? Regardless, the supplier does not dictate the MDMT, the purchaser does. If your request is for information only, the supplier should be able to provide such test data at a price or you can have another testing faciliity (lab) do the testing.
