I am interested in 6 Sq mm and 10 sq mm 4/core pvc/pvc Aluminium conductor does any one know what is the short circuit current rating for 1sec and 5 sec, r,x and z values for different method of installations for above sizes. There is limitation of using 6 and 10 mm sq size aluminium conductor by iec and bs standards but manufacturers do many facturing such sizes????

Ssqrmm t[sec] Tb[oC] kA
10 1 40 0.87
10 5 40 0.39
10 1 65 0.75
10 5 65 0.336
6 1 40 0.52
6 5 40 0.234
6 1 65 0.45
6 5 65 0.2
If the start temperature is the ambient [air 40 degrees C] then Tb=40.
If the start temperature is the maximum permissible for PVC Tb=65.
The formula:
I"k=Ssqrmm/sqrt(A/B*time)/DF
For 1 or 5 sec DF=1
A=ALPHA * RO * 10 ^ 4 / TCAP
ALPHA=0.00403,RO=2.862,TCAP=2.556
A=45.12 for AL
B=LN(1+(TA-TB)/(K+TB)
K=228 for AL
TA=150 for short time for PVC
