5HP DC Motor

I am looking to use an off the shelf 5HP DC Electric Motor in a new application, but I am having trouble finding these. This AC Motor (

would meet the need extremely well, but I am looking for something in DC. Any thoughts?

Baldor/Reliance makes a wide range of motors. I would try them. What are your reasons for a DC motor??? Your looking at a rather expensive motor. Probably on the $2,500-$3,000 range. This motor here might will work if your not limited to the over-all length.

What voltage? If you can operate at low voltage (24vdc - 48vdc) look for "Golf Cart" motors. Much less expensive that industrial motors.
