I am novice in mechanism design. I want to design a 4 bar slider mechanism. Can someone help me? Can I get tutorial for this type of assignments?

I have designed a couple in my life time. But what are you sliding? There are many thing to consider in designing a 4 bar mechanism. Such as time, distance, using table bearing, bearing, and a few more things or none of the above. I don't think I have seen any tutorials or books.
