Hello,
I am currently doing research on a glass-glass connection with an epoxy resin in between in. I want to model this I Abaqus using the student edition 6.12. The research is about a 4 point bend test of two double glazed panels connected with this epoxy resin. I use displacement controlled boundary conditions on the top two rollers to displace the glass.
The problem:
1. The job runs when a displacement of -0.1 is placed on the rollers. Yet the step module is filled in with a time period of 1 and an initial increment size of 1. This results in only 1 frame. When I decrease the initial increment size to 0.1, the error: “too many attempts made for this increment” occurs. In the warning log it notes that “displacement increment for contact is too big” and in the message log the final error found is “the solution appears to be diverging, converging judged unlikely.”. This has been done with multiple increment sizes(initial, minimum and maximum) and still the same error seems to be popping up.
Would anyone know why this error is occurring and how I can solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Kinds regards,
Youri
