3x framing on shearwall

One question
When is 3x framing required for an unblocked shearwall besides of course at the adjoining panel edges?

We would use 3" nominal framing if needed for shearwalls in high shear situations per the IBC shearwall tables.

If you are talking plywood shearwalls, no plywood shearwalls are ever unblocked.

Only plywood diaphragms, depending on the load per foot , can be unblocked.
