I am looking for a software application (likely using Finite Element Methods) to perform 3D nesting calculations. I want to give the package the dimensions of a packaging crate, and a scale 3D model of the parts to be packed, and have it return a minimum and maximum number of parts that could be packaged into said crate. Has anyone heard of such a product? I would really prefer not having to write it myself.
