I execute a 3D dynamic spectral analysis of a building assuming same spectra for both X and Y global axes and ignoring Z-dir quake. In order to design the r/f concrete columns (and beams) i have to consider the following 6 vectors of internal forces per section:
1 & 2) {+/-extrMx,simultMy,simultN}
3 & 4) {+/-extrMy,simultMx,simultN}
5 & 6) {+/-extrN,simultMx,simultMy}
where extr=extreme value and simult=simultaneous value
How can i achieve this with Etabs? (v.8.2.7)
Can anybody share with me an EDB file of a true building spectral analysis and design so i can go through and understand the concept?
