Hi,
I am trying to model a situation where load being applied to a flat surface through a soft rubber like loading patch(curved surface).I was using displacement control for contact analysis and tried many things so far with no luck.

Here is the problem description for you all:

good elements plot( and (distorted element plot( Se annimation before unconverged substep( and at unconverged substep(
If I apply displacement more than 0.5inch, I get the error that "one or more elements are highly distorted ..". But in actual lab test I applied up to 1.75 inches without any problem. So, at least I like to apply 1-1.25 inch. Right now I am trying applying 1 inch in te example shown. But the error comes up.

Does anyone give some advice on how to resolve the issue? I will greatly appreciate if you kindly advice me on this.
Thanks.
