304 stainless wear

im using a stainless 304 shaft with igus bearings. the bearings are wearing away the shaft. how could this be and any sugestions for s plastic than will not wear away stainless?

Your SS is very soft. As you pick up debris it is just cutting the metal. You could try roller burnishing fist to make the surface harder.
