I'm remodeling my house, including a small expansion of my slab. Maybe 10 ft by 30 ft. Contractor wants to save some time (as do I) and has recommended starting framing over the slab after a 3 day cure instead of 7 days.

Thoughts? Residential construction isn't my primary field.

all depends on the mix design, curing and loads. good mix and cure and it can handle moderate loads. Ask for a structural mix, at least 3,000 psi and preferably 4,000. might cost slightly more, but worth it

It's probably cheap residential mix. Maybe 2500 psi? Not sure. Slab is on grade.

beej67...not really a problem, except anchorage. Use a bit stronger concrete so that anchors don't crack the edge. Other than that, not an issue. If they use adhesive anchors, won't be an issue either way.

Two sawcuts?
