3-D Part from Mesh Possible in Abaqus 6.10?

I've been waiting a long time for a feature in Abaqus that allows the generation of 3-D geometric parts from orphan mesh parts. I read on another forum that this might be available in Abaqus 6.10. Can anyone on here running 6.10 confirm whether this is the case or not? Maybe it can be done through the new STL handling capabilities?

Would be good to know before I go badgering the I.T guys for an upgrade.
