Hi all I have been dealing with trying to convince our engineer that some paper machine rolls have very large vibration at exactly half of the there first critical in both the
horizontal and vertical planes. I can see this clearly in the balancer by doing a bump test and then monitoring the 2x vibration. The rolls with the biggest problems have a large shell thickness difference in the center of the roll. Can anyone tell me if they have ever witnessed this also. Thanks Steve
