I work for a prestressed concrete floor manufacturer , within the Quality Department . We test 24 hour and 7 day cubes in house but all 28 day cubes are sent to an independant laboratory for testing . I was hoping that someone could tell me the necessary measures or accreditation that a company must have to test its own 28 day cubes . Is UKAS accreditation necessary , or simply machinery that is UKAS tested . Can any one help .

I'm not familiar with UK standards, but here in the US, we must meet some general criteria of document and sample control as well as we must use equipment that is calibrated and the calibration traceable to a national standard...then the personnel should be qualified to one of several criteria for the certification of laboratory and field personnel.

I would imagine that UK requirements are similar.
