Hi all,
For a medium size house with a heat pump, the MIC calculation allowing for diversity is at the limit for 16mm PVC insulated cable. Are 25mm2 tails being used in domestic installations with heat pumps in the UK / Ireland?
Other than cost and workability, what are the main disadvantages using 25mm2 in place of 16mm2?
Thank you,

Depends on the size of the service fuse - 25mm² tails are typical with a 100A service fuse, 16mm² tails for a 60A or 80A service fuse.

No real disadvantages other than more costly and more awkward to terminate at the CU.
