Please reference thread172-130886 titled "New AISC spec: compressive capacity for members with slender elements"
It was closed but I have a question about the same topic. The link to that thread is here:
I want to include Chapter section E7 into a spreadsheet I am developing. My confusion stems from E7.2. Slender Stiffened Elements, Qa. According to Table B4.1 it's Case 10: h/tw > 1.49*SQRT(E/Fy) that makes the section slender in the first place. So now why I am looking at
b/t in E7.2? What is b and what is t in this case now? To me, b is the flange width and t
is the thickness of the flange. It's throwing me off.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel...
