I am try to load some AutoCad 2000 drawings from a CD into AutoCad 14. The drawings will preview but won't load. When trying to load from AutoCad I just get kicked right back to the open file dialog box. When trying to load from Windows NT Explorer opening with AutoCad, I receive the following messages, in order - "ERROR LOADING DIALOG CONTROL FILE", ok, "THE TEMPLATE ACAD.DWT CANNOT BE LOADED THE DEFAULT SETTINGS WILL BE USED", ok, "ACAD.UNT INVALID FILE NAME" and then total lockup. Any suggestions?

The AutoCAD 2000 drawing must be saved as R14. The drawings are not backwards compatible. As far as the error goes, it is probably because you are trying to open the newer version drawing. Do you get the error opening up any R14 drawings? If so, you may have corrupted a file.

If you don't have A2K, and don't know anyone who does, let me know. I can open it and save it as R14 for you.
