Is it allowed to supply the water needs of the fire protection system from 2 water storage tanks to complete the required amount? we want to build a fire protection system and we have a water storage tank but it doesn`t have the total capacity. If it is possible, what else should I consider?

NFPA 22 has no limitation on the size or number of tanks.

Actually, having two tanks is more reliable than just one...

I agree with stookey...

Suggest that you purchase NFPA-22 and read it carefully...there are also fire code Q&As out there in cyberspace that can be consulted for guideance

The system consist of yards mains, outdoor fire hydrants, a fire pump and the water storage tank, for the protection of a power plant. I`ve found the NFPA 20 talks about multiple pumps (a single suction pipe suplies more than one pump) but I haven´t found in this standard the arrangement where multiple tanks suply one single pump. Tank you for your replay!
