15 kV EPR cable 3 or 5 mil tape shield? 1

Dear forum folks,

We're doing a project where 15 kV EPR with a 5-mil tape shield was specified. A vendor has submitted that cable with a 3-mil tape shield.
Does anyone have any experience with the 3-mil wrap cable to suggest we stay away from it? Any opinions and recommendations are appreciated.

I did not come across with 3 mils shielding tape, nevertheless UL 1072 permits even 2.5 mils.
See: UL1072 Standard for Medium-Voltage Power Cables Table 16.1 Construction of metal component of insulation shielding:
“Tape: Copper of any convenient width and at least 2.5 mils or 0.06 mm thick”.
But there is a note [a]:
“Additional conductance in the metal component may be necessary to meet circuit needs. This additional conductance is to be provided by adding additional area, by using metal of a higher conductivity, or be using more than one of the constructions”.
What the “circuit needs” are?
Nexans in 6-36kV Medium Voltage Underground Power Cables XLPE insulated cables. ch.METALLIC SCREEN:
"The screen also drains the zero sequence short circuit currents under fault conditions; this function is used to determine the required size of the metallic screen."
So, it is obviously: the 5 mils shield will withstand more short-circuit current - or more duration up to clearing the fault.
