Hello All,

I have a B/P that calls out 125 RHR (Roughness Height Rating)
I'm trying to find out if this callout can be interpreted as 125 µin

Thanks!

Here are a FEW of the several surface roughness specs... to be aware of...

ASME B46.1 Surface Texture (Surface Roughness, Waviness, and Lay)

ASME Y14.36 Surface Texture Symbols

SAE J448 Surface Texture

SAE AS107 Surface Finish (RMS)

SAE AS291 Surface Texture, Roughness, Waviness and Lay

And for really ancient drawings/references... long superseded by ASME B46.1...

MIL-STD-10 SURFACE ROUGHNESS, WAVINESS AND LAY

AND for KISS guys like me, I constantly refer to surface roughness comparator gages to avoid shouting matches with machinists and mechanics about surface roughness quality...
Google 'surface roughness comparator gauges'
