Hi guys,

Do either of you have a good spec for testing 11kV indoor switchgear?

I am extending an 6.6kV SB for our customer by adding a couple of CBs.

I was going to recommend the following tests but would welcome any comments and suggestions:

1. Ducter new bus connections
2. 5kV Megger
3. Primary and secondary injection tests

Was also considering Hi-pot but I’m not sure if that is really used anymore for MV switchgear?

Yep, NETA specs, which are now an ANSI standard. You don;t really need to list them all, just put "Tesing IAW ANSI/NETA ATS", the testing company will then have to do all of the required tests.

THere are a few optional tests in the specs so you may want to clarify if you want those done or not.

If you are in an IEC country IEC 60694:Common specifications
for high-voltage switchgear and controlgear standards section lists the routine tests which included dielctric (high voltage) testing.

Primary and secondary current injection will verify the CT/protection relay scheme

Primary and secondary current injection is the term you want to use for medium voltage testing

On medium voltage switchgear, ct testing is usually performed with the voltage method.
