1170.3 Snow Actions - Obstructed Sloping Roofs

Looking at a two level residential building with a 45 roof. The client would to open up the building with the house by raising sloped roof to approximately 20 degree.

As the snow will now be obstructed, per figure 7.2 1170.3, it appears the existing truss would be exposed to a significantly larger snow load. For slopes greater than 10 degrees, do the formulas in figure 7.2 get reduced by factor (60-∝)/50 as is done for Figure 3? Refer below.

My interpretation is that the reduction only applies where it is specifically noted for a specific case. So it does not apply to figure 7.2(c) situations.

Clause 7.4 specifically applies only to abrupt steps as shown in figure 7.3 which isn't your particular case.
