Thanks for that, BigInch. Don't ever do it again when I am having a coffee, OK? Will you do that for me?

fooman2,

I don't have the 2011 version of CSA Z662 in front of me, but in the 2007 edition of that Code, when you read Clauses 8.10.1 thru 8.10.4, you will end up coming to the conclusion that a minimum leak test duration is four hours for any pipeline intended to be operated above 700 kPag, irrespective of whether or not joints are exposed. Remember that the minimum requirements for testing are a strength test followed by a leak test. The strength test duration can be one hour, but the leak test duration must be at least four hours. That is what sets the duration.

The two tests can be performed simultaneously; in such instance, I think simultaneous testing is at the strength test pressure.

Gotta clean my keyboard and get the coffee out of my nose now.

OK. Sorry. I had no choice. I didn't know what he was talking about.. no sleeves... green sleeves, long sleeves, short sleeves, pipe sleeves...
I was trying to give him a clue to tell us more.
Looks like you got it figured out.
