1.8m SCREEN WALL FOUNDATION DESIGN
I have a screen wall which I need to design the foundations for. I can get so far but I think I am going wrong. We have issued the drawing already and my seniors are saying it's fine, but I'm a graduate and need to build up my design folder so I know how to do these designs in the future..The screen wall is a solid brick, 1.8m high, 0.215m thick...bearing pressure 100kN/m². Our drawing states 600mm wide, 900mm deep
Screen Wall
0.215x1.8x1=0.387m³ x 2250/100 = 8.7kN/m
Wind Load
1.6kN/m²x1.8x0.9= 2.6kNm
Eccentricity
M/N = 2.6kNm/8.7 = 0.29
P= 2N/BY = 2x8.7/0.03 = 580? This figure doesn't seem right? I'm expecting this to be more towards the bearing pressure figure?
Am I making much sense?
All I'm after is knowing how wide the footing needs to be. We don't want mesh.
Any help would be appreciated.
