They further noted that raw sewage is a significant source of highly flammable methane gas.
 
It seems there is a sweet spot at 10% methane to air concentration that is the most explosive. With the explosive range being between 5-15% methane to air.

Hydrogen sulfide explosive limit is 4-45% and is also present with raw sewage. We seldom know what other chemicals end up in the sewage stream.
