Our BOM feeds our NC machines, certain materials go to different machines. The parts are optimized and nested on to sheets. We do build things as subassemblies, but projects are optimized in large batches. This saves both time and material. However, when our pile of parts come off the...
The indented BOM's work nearly perfect for the way our company runs except....
1. We do not need the line for the assembly.
2. The quantity should show the full qty of the parts needed.
The only way I see an indented BOM to display is with an assembly quantity and the parts laid out for a...
It is set to "Block model edits that would update the design table".
I'm still unable to update the sketch with the design table. Right now my design table says .25, and the dimension says 5.0
I've even gone as far as shutting down my computer. I thought a restart would help, apparently not.
Ok, I had this working great yesterday....but cannot for the life of me get it to work today!!
I created a 'dummy' sketch in an assembly to help drive part sizes. It's just two lines, with dimensions.
D1@Sketch1 and D2@Sketch1
I added these to columns in my design table. Then entered in...
Here's the full error message.
Column heading "$VALUE@F@equations" contains an invalid equation specifier.
Exiting table without completing model update.
What does this mean.
My model will not update because of this.
I have an equation. F=1
In my design table I have a column header that says "$VALUE@F@equations".
Shouldn't this change my F=1 to whatever I put in the column for that configuration?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
I have a custom property set up for each of my parts to show Material, and another to show which machine the part gets cut on.
Obviously different configurations could have a different material and/or machine.
More times than not, when I insert a BOM to my assembly, it displays incorrect info...
@Jboggs maybe I can exclude one of the parts from the list, and add a custom property to the other part to give it's cut size....since these parts are always the same size, it should work! Thanks!
@annawood I just tried this. It does not show a size in the BOM. I tried adding a custom property, but I get an error, "Cannot add a part or sub-assembly dimension to an assembly custom property". The part sizes are driven by equations. Am I missing something?
@Corblimeylimey to complicate...
This question has two levels. We have a common wood part that is 4" x X", two of these parts go on each assembly. When we cut the parts out, it is cut as one 8.125" x X" part. It has an edges applied to it, then cut in half, creating two 4" x X" parts. The edges cannot be applied to a part...
I have an assembly with about 25 parts. I made a mirror of the assembly as a configuration. Now NONE of the equations work, so I cannot resize it using a global variable. I had it so that you can enter a length, width, height...and it would adjust all the parts accordingly. Now all the...
