Dear all,
I am performing a buckling analysis on a I beam section under uniform moment. I use S4R element. as i decrease the mesh size sometimes I get very strange results that I don't know if they are real buckling modes or not. Does anybody have any idea about that?

Dear All,
When I run an ABAQUS job from ABAQUS command prompt I need do monitor the job as well. Does anybody know a command for that and how can I stop(kill) the analysis in through command prompt when I need
Regards
Dear Friends
When I write add the imperfection command to the input file
*imperfection, file=myfile
1,1
and I run the analysis in the Abaqus command prompt, it seems that the analysis doesn't continue while without adding the imperfection command to the input file everything was alright.
Does...
I don't know how to thank you Martin. I finally made the .fil output. then I made my model for Riks analysis and I opened its input file with notepad and I added *imperfection, file=mylastfile
and then in abaqus command prompt I ran the new input file. then I imported it to abaqus for analysis...
thank You Martin
I added this one to the input file. nothing happened. I submitted the job again but the input file was rewritten. then I decided aybe I can import the edited input file as a model but this time I faced this error:
WARNING: The following keywords/parameters are not yet supported...
I think my first problem is that i don;t know where I have to write these commands. I use the command area which is at the same place of message area. is it correct?
I used the following command but Aabaqus gives error with the *.
*NODE FILE, GLOBAL=YES, MODE=1, LAST MODE=1
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Is it something wrong with using * ?
Hi all,
I have done a Riks analysis to investigate the material nonlinearity
on buckling moment. but when I add plastic characteristics nothing changes. does anybody know why?
Dear Mates,
I have performed a Riks analysis to work out the influence of material plasticity on buckling moment. to make sure that the section yields before buckling moment reaches I used short spans. But the results are the same for both elastic and plastic materials.Does any body know what...
I checked the LPF but up to very large values for LPF the graph is still straight. what do you think may be the problem that it doesn't actually buckle
I have done a Riks analysis to investigate the interaction of yielding and buckling moment. How can I assess the results of a Riks anaysis to work out the buckling moment.
I want to do a post buckling analysis with riks method. first I did a linear buckling analysis and now i want to write the results to a result file as a nodal data to do the geometric imperfections for riks analysis. does anybody know how I should do that?
