MATHCAD 15.0 Units problem

I'm sure the reference was established correctly. since some of the variables such as nlegse.prov,A.vfreq,V.res were able to be output in my main sheet. It is just some variables and results that I actually need to use can not be carried over into my main sheet.

    MATHCAD 15.0 Units problem

IR, Thank you so much for your help. I was trying to design the negative reinforcement for the slab using the barrier design results( the vehicle impact force and moment etc. from the reference file for barrier design). none of the barrier design results can be carried over and recognized by the...

    MATHCAD 15.0 Units problem

one more question, why the variables defined in the referenced file( for barrier design) doe snot carry over to my mathcad sheet properly? it seems that my mathcad sheet doe snot recogize these variables already defined in the reference file.

There are 4 referenced files linked to the file. I don't know how to upload multiple files at once, I will try upload them one by one. but you need to re-establish the references. reference #1...

    MATHCAD 15.0 Units problem

This is my spreadsheet for flat slab design: The demand and capacity moments moments seemingly have same units( all in ft.kip or ft.lb), however they are not comparable according to the program's error message. the moment demand is Mu.str_pos is in <ft.kip> uints, while ϕMn.pos seems to be in...

how to model a 2" gap between cap and the pipe pile in Pushover

As shown in the attached sketch. The steel pipe pile stops 2" below the cap while the reinforced concrete core continue into the cap. The intention of such detailing is to force the plastic hinge to be formed underneath the cap and prevent damage to the concrete of the cap. My question is how...

Any recomendation for VBA self-study material

Not having a chance to take a class in VBA when in school. I want to teach myself VBA. Besides websites, any good books to recommend. I know the basics of EXCEL, I can make very long formulas include BOOLEANs. But I know VBA will make your spreadsheet shorter and more powerful. I want to have a...

Interstate 495 bridge in Wilmington, Delaware

I would be supprised if it is caused solely by setttlemnet due to the dirt pile. I would suspect hghhly crosioned steel piles. http://www.nbcchicago.com/traffic/transit/green-bay-interstate-43-bridge-225324252.html

    How to model retrofitting of concrete beams;

Regular beam design/ rating porgrams may not able to model it.( it would not allow you to input more than one material) how about ANSIS,ABAQUS?

Force controlled push over analysis sap2000

I have never done a force controled--that's my imagination. this a quetsion for the tech support at CSI, they do answer such questions, they can even take a look at your model.

Force controlled push over analysis sap2000

When you define your PUSH-OVER load case, it will allow you to choose force controled or displ. controled, right?

    Nonlinear Analysis

yes, you need to define and assign hinges, during the pus-over, whenever the moment reaches the plastic moment, a hinge will be triggered at that location. more hinges, the slower to run. you can assign as many as you want, but it could slow the running. so we usuually asign hinges to the most...
