Economizer damper control in heating season

Hello All, ASHRAE 90.1 recommends supply air temmperature to control the economizer dampers and cooling coil valve. The standard provides clear reasoning for doing it. My question is related to heating season. From your experience ,did anyone had any issues with coil freezing if similar...

HAP 4.41 Heat Loss/ Heat Gain Calculations.

I have uploaded my heat load calc. and Carrier units. Please review them and provide your comments. I didnt mean to use 400 cfm it was just there for reference. Each cooling unit has different cooling capacity. For some of the units I provided for Carrier suggest this 400 cfm per ton number...

HAP 4.41 Heat Loss/ Heat Gain Calculations.

Hi, I have trouble understanding the output of the HAP 4.4 Carrier software. I did calculations for heat loss and found out that cooling load comes out to be 5 Ton but the CFM required for the space shown in the result sheet is 2400. How do I interpret these results? Maximum CFM per ton...

    Fixture units for LEED building

Chris , I guess I meant to say what you said. But went to far to the oversizing the pipes because of the increased gpm given by the outdated fixture units. If you guys come across any literature regarind this topic especially for LEED buildins please share it. I dont know if ASPE have...

    Fixture units for LEED building

The factor you stated I guess is based on your experience.. But did u come across any literature that suggested these factors.. AS far I see pipe sizing does have impact on various factors... oversized pipe may cause problems.. like increased pump size .. I dont knw about the accuracy of...

    Fixture units for LEED building

Hi all, Most of the methods for water pipe sizing are based on old flow rates. And if you do the calculation according to them, the gpm required is way high compared to high efficiency plumbing fixtures. 1. Can anyone recommend how to put the factors for these fixtures units, especially for...

    ASHRAE 62.1 Exhaust Air

@Chris , u mean to say it has to run continously for the occupied period. @ maurice . we can have CO2 sensor in the washroom , and then interlock it with the exhaust fan ?

    ASHRAE 62.1 Exhaust Air

    1. If the exhaust requirement for the bld is 500cfm, is it required by the ASHRAE62.1 code to run the exhaust fan continously during the occupied period or it can be cycled on timing? Same question for the O/A requirment .. can it be cycled by providing more cfm then the required .. or it has...
