Hi,
I know that Hypermesh is unitless, however I have a question. I've imported a model from CATIA and the software has converted the lengths and therefore a length that measures 10 inches in CATIA is coming up as 250.4 in Hypermesh. To put this right, I added a scale factor of 1/25.4, which...
Hi, thanks for your response, I have just noticed that when you click in the beam orientation box it lets you select a coordinate system.
I'm not sure what you mean by what code, sorry!
I know to do it for shell elements you select MODIFY-ELEMENT-SHELL ORIENTATION, but how do you do the same thing for a bar element? Or is there a simpler way of doing it?
Thanks.
Hi, I think this is a fairly straightforward question - I have a number of C section and L section bar elements, and I want to be able to see the beams as C section and L section beams rather than just lines. It's just so that I can check the orientation of the elements is correct.
Thanks in...
You calculation is correct providing that the billets aren't round as they are in your diagram - your surface area needs to be the actual surface contact area between the billet and the support - it does seem like a very small area though! The compressive stress in the support will be the same...
