Hello I am considering making a electric car based around the fiat turbina, or simalar aero shape CD 0.14. space frame chassis etc.
I have struggled to work out reliable aerodnamic properties for the car, and would like some help if possible.
Is trying to achive .14 CD frontal of 23 sq ft...
Hello,
We have been quoted for 125k for a 20ft x15 ft sq distillation tower
which isn't too bad I feel. But I was wondering if it would be cheaper to get my own team together and make it ourselves.
Since steel isn't all that expensive to start with and I am working on $25 hour for each welder...
I think I will need A gc/ms unit, could anyone give me an idea what the costs would be to do a test, I know they can be done in a matter of minutes, but have been told they are around 1-1.5k dollars which seems a bit steep personally,
Thanks

Hello all, I am currently doing some research on plastics and wondered if there was a US/GLOBAL standard for PET/E PE PP HDPE LDPE etc
I.e. that each bottle of coke or fanta would be of the same composition of plastics or a mix of the above plastics.
I am looking at GC of the bale plastics to...
Hello, I was wondering if ppl have looked at the pdf document as it illustrates that there is exaust gas recovery systems that arent seen on engines nomally and additionally its fuel was natural gas rather than diesel. This achived on the order of 68% thermal effecieny. Whilst the base effiecny...
Hello again all :)
Upon further research the main effort seems to be fouces on improcing the combustion effiecny of the engines, but there doesnt seem to be that much of an effort with trying to extract the energy in the exaust, a catalyst after all is to burn the unused fuel.
With an...
The Turbocompounded radial engines were less effiecnt than modern engines and had no catalysts so the exaust speed was also faster, im not sure that a turbocompound would make as mych differnce on a modern engine, 10% maybe
Im sure some people have experience with jake brakes here,
to use air...
Ok I would like to add further questions based on further reaseaching, looking at 6 cycle engines with a air 5/6 stroke and compatibility with other technologies working with natural gas,
If Air were to be used instead of steam saving on water costs, surely this would act as an airbrake in an...
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and am interested in engineering, but am not classically trained im afraid,
I have been studing a number of engines and have a number of questions on them, and what people would think of them and their practical use, thanks.
1, is HCCI compatible with the...
