    Coal Calorific Value

what is the effect of moisture in coal on its calorific value. Is there any exact relationship between moisture, ash content and Calorific value of coal?

CANDU and Coal-fossil power plant heat rejection

I would like to compare the heat rejection of a CANDU nuclear plant(700 MW) with a coal-fired fossil plant(700MW) both rejection via the main condenser to a cooling tower which one has overally more heat rejection than the otherone and why?

Fossil and Nuclear power plant heat rejection...

Thank you allfor your comments, Let me clarify my means: I would like compare the heat rejection of a CANDU nuclear plant(700 MW) with a coal-fired fossil plant(700MW) both via the main condenser to a cooling tower, just learn me which one has overally more heat rejection than the otherone.

Fossil and Nuclear power plant heat rejection...

Hello, For a fossil power plant and a nuclear power plant with the same capacity of power generation(i.e 700 MW)which plant would reject more heat to atmosphere and could you please say why?

    ASME Sec.II

ASME Sec. I as design secection but actualy my question is related to two different presnted table data for design stress intensity and maximum allowable design stress in ASME Sec.II thanks,

    ASME Sec.II

what is difference between design stress intensity and maximum allowable design stress in ASME Sec.II, and which one should be selected in refernce temperature for thickness calculation?

    Inside or outside groove

For welding a shell of stack with 3300 mm I.D. and thickness range 15 to 8 mm, inside or outside groove on circumferential and longitudinal seams of stack is preferable.

Effect of head loss in pump power calculation

Let rephrase the problem in this way: how to calculate the efficiency of pump-turbine in pump mode when we know, maximum static head (H) (which should water to be pumped up), max flow rate in pump mode (Q), maximum power input into pump (P), head loss (h) Is it required to have more information...

Effect of head loss in pump power calculation

Thank you all again for your kind comment, Dear "Biginch" the equation which I've wrote is based on Power input/ouput not pressure (Pin and Pout) As tigerbEIT mentioned I think I need to add the head loss to the total head required to remedy the head friction in calculating the delived output...

    Reactor

The problem is, actually I could not find any equation in available sources in the internet for: Heat release rate in fuel, MW Fuel rod heat flux kW/m2 Average fuel power density, kW/kg Thank you in advance for your comments

Effect of head loss in pump power calculation

Thank you all for your comments Let me raise again my question in this way: For a pump-turbine in pump mode with maximum power input of 270MW, and 50 m3/s it is required to pump water to level i.e. 420m, with total head loss about, say 10m, How to calculate efficiency of pump just base on...

Effect of head loss in pump power calculation

Hello, The output pump power(Watt) based on chaning the head (h) is: Power=ro*g*h*Q but how to take into account the effect of headloss(m) in the equation.

    Reactor

Hello, I am a mechanical engineer. While my knowledge about archaeology is more than nuclear sciences I appreciate your guidance for solving following problem: How can I calculate? 1-Mass of fuel UO2 in reactor, kg 2-Total heat release rate in fuel, MW 3-Average fuel power density, kW/kg...
