    Air compressor selection

We have a Quincy rotary screw QSI 750 in our facility and just purchased another one last week. Great operating capabilities, low maintenance, and Quincy in general has the best warranty I saw while gathering quotes for this recent project.

How to deal with a difficult co-worker yet maintain personal values

I am starting to get to the end of my rope with this character, he has been doingn alot of the shady things, trying to blame things on me when I haven't even been involved. Not sure what to do, but slowly getting very frustrated.

How to deal with a difficult co-worker yet maintain personal values

Just had an impromptu meeting in the PM's office about an issue that I had been working on previously that was taken over by the Sr. PC to take to the next level (because of his experience) and he had tried to say that my drawings, dimensions and concepts were wrong. Rather than say I proved him...

How to decide between compressor types?

So you both agree that a variable speed would be the best way to go? I am new at this and I didn't want to just make a decision based on what the guy trying to sell his product was saying, I guess I am a bit skeptical of sales people. Thanks.

How to decide between compressor types?

Without divulging too much information, the main use of compressed air will be our "burnout" units, which fluctuate on time and BTU's with each different pattern. The units are capable of requiring up to 150cfm each (there may be up to 14 total in the future) but our process right now runs them...

How to decide between compressor types?

Hi all, This may not be the right place to be posting this but hopefully I am close. Long story short, I am currently in a more "Project Coordinator" type job than actual engineering and am currently looking at upgrading our compressed air system. We have 2 compressors in our facility at this...

How to deal with a difficult co-worker yet maintain personal values

I have taken to speaking LOUDLY when initiating conversation with this character as it is possible that being he is atleast pushing 50 his hearing could be going, but he ignores me yet! Ahh the perils of the workplace! Thanks all!

How to deal with a difficult co-worker yet maintain personal values

Thanks for your replies everyone! Seems that workplace bullies are becoming more common and that is a shame, especially with younger people (such as myself) starting to get better jobs in the office and looking for the opportunity to learn from experienced individuals.

How to deal with a difficult co-worker yet maintain personal values

The fact of the matter is that, I more or elss am competent at what I do here. I had no project planning/management experience prior to this. I was a co-op student for this company last summer in the quality deparment, and during the spring I received an email from my former boss saying that the...

How to deal with a difficult co-worker yet maintain personal values

Hi all, I am currently working at a factory as Jr. Project Co-ordinator on a 1 year contract as my company undergoes facility expansion to increase production. I am part of a small project team consisting of the Project Manager and a Sr. Project co-ordinator, both of whom have worked with the...

    Requirements for Industrial Catwalk

I may be posting this in the wrong forum but I figured Structural engineers would be the ones to go to for this topic. I am looking at installing some industrial catwalks for access to raised equipment. Could somebody tell me the width requirement (for ontario)? Does the width requirement...

    MET uncertain about future

Grim, In Ontario, I'm taking a 3 year (4 after co-op/internship) MET Diploma program. I can become a certified engineering technologist (CET). I can choose to go straight to work, or go to certain universities and jump into their third year of engineering. Upon completion of the final 2 years...

    MET uncertain about future

Hi all! I am currently finishing my MET Diploma (going into final semester), and am unsure about my future directions. I've done really well throughout my program and I really do enjoy the things I have learned. My problem is that I am unsure about what type of work I'd like to do as a career...

Would it not be required for vapours?

    Non-Chemical Etching of Stainless Steel

Well thats what I am asking! Something that might be able to delineate the weld, but say without using caustic materials? Chemistry isn't my strong point, which is why I have posted this question.

    Non-Chemical Etching of Stainless Steel

Hi guys, Does anyone know of a non-chemical etchant for stainless steel that would delineate weld lines? I am trying to implement a weld analysis process into the workplace, but the visual is terrible without etching. I know that Sodium Hydroxide w/ a 9v battery works, but i was hoping to do...

    Kids these days...

I am currently completing my co-op for mechanical engineering, and am obviously in my twenties (twenty to be exact). Although I do agree with most of the points made in this thread, it is best not to label us all this way. When i deliver resumes I dress well; not a full suit with a tie or...
