I try everything I can just to get an opinion on the stuff, however, I'm always getting back to my faithfull 105/XTR combo on my trike. I live in a flat area, so flat, that if you stand on a pumpkin, you can see things 50 miles far from the point where you stand :) Our mountains are known...
I can't stand on the pedal, I have a recumbent trike :) However, I understand the question, rest assured that the NuVinci has overcome most of the problems that come with the classic derailleur systems. Pinion can't be retrofitted, only available as an OEM package which requires some mods on the...
I have the I-7 2600K @5GHz, 16G DDR3, 128G SSD system drive, and you hit the spot Anna, I usually end up with assemblies with multiple sub-assemblies adding up to about 500-700 parts and the parts are all complex individually. I usually suppress all the features I don't really need during the...
I found and read a few of these hardware comparison tests and the test results vary. However, none of them are done with SW and that is the only 3D app I'm using and the only reason to use a workstation class GPU. The manufacturer site states the main difference is in the double number of stream...
I have the Ati Fire Pro V4800 on my home PC and an Nvidia FX580 in the office. Both perform ok, but often I find that a better GPU wouldn't hurt. Since I mostly do drawing and simpler things in the office, I'd leave the office GPU as it is, but am thinking of investing into the Ati FirePro V5800...
Sitting quite a lot in front of the SW screen I found some sort of relief with the Space Navigator because when using only the PC mouse, my body was always in a bad position, some sort of being in a diagonal twist, using almost only my right hand. With the 3D mouse in the game, I make less...
Hi,
I need some advice on how to prepare all the customizations in the SW 2012 installation for backup because the old comp is going out and the new one with the new OS is coming to my desk. I need to, or at least, I would like to preserve all the custom settings in my current SW installation...
The construction line itself is not an axis, at least not a valid axis for circular pattern for features (for circular patterns on a sketch level even a point can do) so you need to exit the sketch, select Insert - Reference Geometry - Axis and select the construction line to become the axis for...
I'd like to see an example of that behavior. I never use the fix relation myself, but tried now on few examples, and whenever I apply the fix relation it remains unmovable once the relation is applied.

IS2000 is the standard you're looking for.
Here is the PDF with the standardized dimensions for both front and rear mounts: http://www.magura.com/uploads/media/downloads/IS_E_44cb8a_01.pdf

CaptnCanary, go to grabcad.com and type caliper or brake into the search field and you'll find a few well modeled calipers. Registration is free and simple.

Radeon is nothing better than Intel GPU when it comes to CAD applications. Either buy a laptop with a dedicated CAD GPU or buy one of these you listed, but expect to have some problems sooner or later with a non-workstation GPU. Jwouters gave the link you should check.

It should. It (SW2009/2010) worked on my Acer Extensa 5220 (no RealView, though) but was ok for not too complicated stuff.

Found it. It appears that for every fillet bead the appearance must be added manually, regardless of the fact that it shows as applied in RealView (on or off). Selecting any other option when applying appearance/color doesn't work in PV renders (body, surface, face, assembly)...
I'm obviously missing something. On some parts in an assembly, weld beads (fillet beads) appear properly in RealView mode on and off, but do not have the appearance (color) when rendered in PV. On some other parts, no problems. Attached image showing fillet beads on some yellow parts being gray...
I must admit I made an unintentional mistake. Found that the vertical tube was cut with a slightly larger diameter which actually was the reason I couldn't get the weld bead applied. The small gap and the concentric mate were just enough not to get an intersecting virtual edge between bodies...
