Can someone run me thru the process of exporting a simple STEP file out of Wildfire 2.0 please? I am a UG user and have a friend that is using Pro/E (WILDFIRE 2.0) and we do not see any of the options to EXPORT or IMPORT step files (nor .iges, .X_T etc etc).
If you can respond with a simple...
Hello, I am curious how to display the geometry created within NX9 more defined (less "choppy"). I know this will have to do with a tolerance setting somewhere, I just dont know where to find the setting. For example when I display a cylinder it appears as a 16 sided shape at the edges when...
You can scale it, however it moves off location of where it currently needs to be. There must be a way around that as well. Im just kind of confused why the Offset Curve function doesnt easily do this simple operation. Toost, good idea as well. Good input guys.
I am working in NX8. I have a curve that I would like to OFFSET, making it larger in diameter so to speak. I dont see an easy way to do this using the Offset Curve function, can this be done? I have attached my file for reference and would really appreciate some advice on a quick way of doing...
Wow, much better surface created using isoparametric curves, create new clean spline from points off those then through curve mesh....very nice and close to original shape but better.
Could one of you show me how you would go about creating a new model using Isoparametric curves (4) to reconstruct this. maybe a simple surface created similar to this shape would be help for me to disect it in part navigator and pick up some pointers. I would really appreciate it, thank you.
Well, I was in charge of creating these solid models. I had a physical part in my hand, had it 3D scanned and then made it at least symmetrical down centerline using bridge curves after I split it. So, with my limited surface modeling experience this is where I am at with them. I did have our...
Yeah, interesting information Tomas, this shape was generated from 3D scanned data to produce a solid model. Thats probably why its a "mess". If my surface modeling experience was a bit better I would recreate this as close to the shape as possible but better. I am going to try to see what I can...
Those are some options I just tried, good ideas for sure. I think I may need to construct lines off this surface though and create mesh surface to get a clean extension in this case. The geometry it creates is not desired.
I have a surface that I would like to enlarge keeping obviously the same general shape. It is a surface off of a parasolid that was imported so it is a dumb solid. When I use ENLARGE option it gives me an undesired shape. What would be the best and most efficient way to do this? Curious to see...
KeyCreator lol...my apologies. Do you have any knowledge of how to constrain say a round sphere to a surface? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Yeah, same thing I did. I used your concept of Axisymmetic scale type and scale it closer to the section? Looks better, they are going to have to deal with this. Thanks alot! This Axisymmetric scaling is a good tool.
Thats very close, however I need to keep the geometry the same prior to those points. Scaling the model does in fact make it longer by .010 but also changes the contour of what is existing. Existing meaning, this part is burned into a mold and all I am wanting to do is extend the end of the part...
No what I want to do is extend the tip of the part (opposite of the more flat end) from the points, .010". So when the model is completed it will be .010" longer than it is now. Thanks.
Our engineering department purposely tightens up the tolerances and actually sews the models together using that tolerance. I have told them this same comment of how ridiculous it is to use such a close tolerance, it causes an extreme amount of accuracy in order to get our models to sew...
Hello all,
I have some geometry that I need to extend .010" from approximate points. I am curious of the easiest way to do this and keep the existing geometry tangent to the section being extended. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to do this easily? I have attached section with note in...
