Just wondering which terminal emulator you use in order to write information to your relays (SEL's) during testing with macros? I am well aware there are several out there but i am looking for ease of use! all of a sudden my emulator wants to bounce baud rates around on me and was looking for a...
Has anyone had issues with the SEL 3332. I am currently installing an SEL 3332 at an electrical substation and I when I change status on a device the SEL protocol picks up the 1 bit change however it does not translate it to the CDC protocol?
I am currently working with a 2411 communicating...
Engineering didn't like putting a different signal on the dc Circuit and accounting didn’t want to spend the money on a test box so I have been using what in effect is a Simpson meter. I pull the fuses for that circuit and note the resistance between the Pos or Neg lead and ground. If there...
I currently have a 250VDC battery which has multiple full positive grounds on it. I have pulled all the dc fuses one at a time and the dc potential on the ground still remains. I have been notified that this ground has been present for some time now and in my opinion other grounds have also...
Has anyone run across any really good macro builders for Doble's ProTest (preferably for SEL Relays)? I recently tried a beta version and really liked the results for a relay which was tested, however the program was still in its initial phases and a majority of (SEL) relays were not supported...

I am wondering what benefit would you get from running a 1hp motor at 208vac vs 115vac. A customer has been told it would be cheaper to run the motor off of 208vac. The customer is having no problem running the motor off of 115.
two questions
Will the motor run cooler?
Would it ultimately be...
Just FYI My background is in electronic engineering and technology. I worked in R&D @ a major fiber optic core routing company (2yrs). Since the telecom layoffs I have switched over to an R&D chemical laboratory (gotta pay the bills).
I may be a beginner but I would like the chance to prove myself. I am familiar with multiplexing technologies just in a difference sense, but my experience has not led me down this avenue before and I would like to expand my horizons. I see many professionals who have a vast amount of experience...
I have been blessed with my newest project to design a system. There are several controls in my new process all having rs-232 connections approximately 9 of them.Mainly temperature flow and pressure. I am looking for a low cost, reliable, easily operational SCADA system (I am guessing) for data...
I was looking at mullite but the fracture toughness wasn't as high. I thought the tube was breaking due to some other force. I am having trouble finding a supplier for YsZ. On my materials property guide MgO states its maximum usage temp is 500 C. Is that a misprint? Should it be 1500 C? Can you...
I have been ramping up and down slowly (60 C per hour) the trouble comes into play where I am injecting certain gasses. One of my nozzles is in @ 1100 C at a 90 degree angle and the gas which I am injecting i believe is at a lower temperature and this is causing the stress. I cannot decrease the...
The output voltage is 5V @ 25mA max out of the controller
The relay is a solid state relay with snubberless triac output, 3 to 32 VDC input voltage range, voltage input, 0.05 to 25 ampere rms output current, 24 to 240 volt rms output voltage.
I am using a temperature controller in order to control some heating tapes. The output of the temp control is 5 volts when I hooked it up to the input of a SSR 3-32V the output of thetemp control drops to @ 1V if I leave the volt meter accross the input the voltage rises to an acceptable level...
