I have used Flow Nozzles in high pressure/ temp. and they are the best in steam/water application. Check for local vendors who manufacture this or ABB, TECHNOMATIC etc..
PSV is the last defense of the plant against any hazardous event( In the worst case scenario if Shutdown system fails , PSV is the last defense). The way outlet flange has mismatch, this is sure recipe for disaster. Please get your PSV vendor at site and let he examine this. I am sure he will...
Please check following
1.Control Valve Primer - Hans Baumann -
2. Control Valve selection and sizing - Les Driskell
3. ISA handbook of control valves - Hutchison
I am sure with above 3 books you don't need anything else ..Ofcourse practical sizing experience can not be substituted by anything...
Check with SEVERN GLOCON. If I am not wrong "LOW SHEAR"patent and design is by SG. They are pioneers in Low Shear Control Valve. There is one more company in Holland , but don't remember the name.
For a orifice plate in pipe size 16" which type of taps are suitable? Flange taps or D,D/2 taps? is there any advantage of using D,D/2 taps in large pipe size? Thanks.
Hi
One of the orifice plate specification has following clause:
For Compressible fluids differential range in inches of water shall not exceed the normal upstream static pressure in psi absolute except that for exhaust steam.
My question is - why this is applicable only for compressible...
Hi
The job I am working on , specifications says tube fittings shall be rated for 9000#. I tried to find out 9000# rating corresponds to what pressure in psig/bar. Is there any standard for this where I can find the Table? Thanks.
Ball Valve material
In ongoing project we are procuring ESD ball valves of various class ratings i.e. 300 onwards up to 1500#. Client specification for ball material is ASTM A182 F316L or A351 –CF8M. Vendor from whom we are procuring these valves is unable to give this ball material for class...
Hi
Most likely this is bean size or CV of the choke.Generally bean sizes are 32/64", 48/64",64/64" 128/64" and further. So if this is not bean size, then may be CV of the choke . Pl. check with vendor. From number 104 looks like it is CV of the valve. Have not come across bean size of 104.
Hi
We are procuring well head control panel. Well head control panel will be mounted 30mtrs away from the manifold. Closing time required for the wing valve and SSV is 5 seconds. Well head panel manufacturer has quoted for quick relief valve / dump valves so as to meet closing time...
Sini4s, Some additional info:
BS12490 clause no. 8.2 says “actuator maximum torque/ thrust based on the maximum operating pressure shall not exceed the valve MAST any point of travel”. If you ask valve vendor to comply to this clause, generally the answer is “actuator is fitted with safety...
Hi
What is meant by erosion index with relation to Choke Valve? I am doing evaluation for choke valves for oil and gas chokes. One of the vendors has indicated erosion index values for each choke valve. My question is
1.Is there a maximum limit of erosion index? Is it defined in any...
I have following scenario for a safety valve.
MAWP = 240bar g, set pressure = 240 bar g, operating temperature = 50 deg c, relieving temperature = 580 deg c., over pressure = 21% and valve body material is carbon steel. Vendor has calculated and selected 1.5D3 valve with 2500# x 300# rating...
Hi
I have an application where safety valve set pressure is 240 bar g, relieving temperature is 529 Deg c and fluid is hydrocarbon gas. What are spring material choices in such case? Are there any guidelines for spring material selection?
Thanks.
Hi
For selection of ESD valve actuator supply, what are factors that decide whether ESD valve shall be hydraulic or pneumatic? What are advantages of Hydraulic valves?
Thanks.
Hi
I am not familiar with ESD valves and new to its design. What are the factors that determine the torque requirements of ESD valve actuator? In case of emergency how the torque is taken care of? Are there any arrangements(protection) in actuator which ensures that there is no shearing of...
