Say I have a part with four holes of equal size. On the drawing, I want to say 4X the size. Is there a way to drive that 4X from constraints on a sketch or a similar method? Such that, if I added a 5th hole to the part, the dimension would automatically update. Similar question for corner...
Answered my own question. Figure I'd post my solution.
1) Create a cut-extrude to some arbitrary depth.
2) Create a feature that measures volume and save it. Analysis > Measure > Volume > select the part > make note of the units or change them to the units you want the volume to be in > select...
I've got a funky shaped plastic fuel tank, and a fuel level sensor that measures a depth from a given point on the sensor. I used a cutout to create a solid part representing the fuel at a volume we want to call full. Since Creo can calculate the volume for me, I also know the volumes at 3/4...
Hmmm...Those would work for a single surface, but if this rubber/flexible part is a common part used on several different surfaces, I would need to have a unique part for each surface, plus a flat part for a drawing. What I would love to be able to do is model the part flat. Then when it's put...
Is it possible to have a part follow the contours of another in an assembly? Say I'm trying to add a square of thin rubber to a surface. I'd like the rubber part to follow the contours of what I'm attaching it to. Is this even possible?

I'm relatively new to Creo, and have a couple questions regarding parameters. I notice that Creo is pulling parameters from many different sources. Where is it pulling the values for parameters like PDMREV and PROI_REVISION/PROI_VERSION? The source only says "PDM" which doesn't really tell me...
I recently started a new position at a company using Creo Parametric R 2.0. This is my first exposure to Creo Parametric or anything from PTC other than MathCAD; I have formerly used Solidworks and CATIA V5. Is there a way in Creo to change the direction the scroll wheel zooms in and out? I've...

I somewhat answered my own question, but now I'm wondering this:
Mathcad apparently only accepts a file name that is 33 characters long. Otherwise, Autosave crashes. Anyone know the reasoning behind the 33-character limit? Leftovers from version 1.0 perhaps?

Are there any limitations to the length of file names, or limitations to characters other than what Windows uses? I have been having Autosave crash on me, and after some "tests", I found out that files with a long name wold give an error, while the exact same files with a one word file name...
I've been using SolidWorks for years, and recently changed jobs where they use Catia. Any quirks I should look out for? I got a few tutorials from a coworker. Are there any good tutorials out there that might be recommended? Thanks!

We're looking for 240-290. It's a 1.25 ton part for our trucks. Cast then part of it machined; the machined portion is where we're testing. We're mostly checking supplier quality.

Equotip (assuming proper calibration and trained tester) vs Brinell hammer: Any ideas on which is more accurate for testing the hardness? Thanks in advance.

I was digging through some old weld specs and ran across "Linde 86" called out as a consumable. Is that the same thing as ESAB Spoolarc 86?

What would be the best way to model something like this? http://www.mcnichols.com/products/grating/plank/diamond/

What I have is a 1-1/2" male NPTF (National Pipe Thread Fuel) and a 1-1/2" female NPT (National Pipe Thread). Not two NPT fittings. The questions is, will they work together? NPTF threads have slightly difference roots and crests to allow for an interference fit when they're tightened together...
I've got two fittings. One with a male NPTF and the other with a female NPT. I know the two are somewhat interchangeable, but I was wondering if this would work. This isn't a high-pressure application, so some sort of sealing will be used. Thanks
