Machine design book from your Uni would be a gud option. I saw a training institute running an advanced course which concentrate on best practices etc. using examples from these books.
Hello
I am going to do my Advanced surface exam. I have fair bit of experience in surface modelling in past but haven't touched it in last 2-3 years. So wanted to sharpen my skills & get familiar with new feature & interface of the surface module before I go for the test.
Can anybody suggest...
Hello
I am searching for information on Tungsten Carbide infused welding/hard facing process. It is used in some ground engaging wear parts in agricultural & mining processes. I am interested in
What is the exact name of this process
knowing more about the process,
How to specify the...
A few things which can be helpful in your scenario.
Use "Lock View focus" & "Lock view Position" while working & sketching on overlapping views. Check help for the explanation.
Drag the views by holding onto one of the vertex of a particular view to avoid moving a wrong view.
If needed to...
I can have a safe guess here that you have come from AutoCAD background. I was the same,
I started using SWX in 2000/01. Initially I only used Modeling side for a year or two as I found it very slow to produce drawings compared to ACAD. So I used to create the models & their 2D views in SWX &...
I think you have posted in wrong community as this is SolidWorks Community.
But as the problem is of general nature, I will give it a try.
Draw a line as so that the A3 is divided into 2 A4 sheets. Then print 1:1 scale & select the print area by window in a way that you get the line into both...
When I did my CSWP, I found some of the images/drawings to be ambiguous & confusing to some extent.
That was a big disappointment for me & I wasted a bit of time there but managed to get it right in first try.
Thanks for your input, I feel pumped to go for CSWE now.
has someone did this exam yet??
I am planning to do this. I will need to do those advances one before I go ahead. Any comments on contents of this exam will be appreciated.
Thanks
I do not know how a "Pack & Go " is different to Renaming thru SWX explorer. But I seem to have no problems with a "Pack & Go" plus a Ctrl + Q.
Give it a go & see if that helps.
Cheers
In addition to above.
I would suggest a good plan for transition. They have already bought the software, so why not use it on some part of the new project. Say use SWX for only 25% of project. Use only 2 of your best drafties. Set some realistic deadlines.
Show them the diffrence is because...
for further clarification, I have some assemblies with Virtual parts which I have checked into PDMW & it works perfectly. But returing to the topic of this thread, they are not ideal for creating drawing & then SWPDMing...........ah I created a new term there....SWPDMing.........;)
In my experience it will take almost same amount of time for both options.......
Because only way I know of making a file virtual is to open assy.but he renaing can be done in explorer at much faster rate.
Do a comparison on both methods & show them the time difference & let them decide...
When you say Virtual Components........DO you mean all the parts will be in Assy.???
What about drawings? Do they have unique names?
If yes, What about the revision control on Virtual components?
The best way would be to Change the names of files in SWX Explorer.........
I had this issue at 2 different occasions in last 2 days & I restarted SolidWorks/system between sessions.
I even tried deleting the block from sketch in Part2 then closing the file(with save) but on reopening it somehow againg has that block in memory.
