    Water Temperature

thank you msquared48, there is climate data and the evaporation can be computed using other methods such as aerodynamic method. However,I want to compute the evaporation using Dalton Formula for comparison.I am looking for some technical concepts to reasonably guess the water temprature from...

    Water Temperature

Dear Freinds, I want to apply Dalton formula to compute evaporation rate from the reservoir. However,I need water temprature data which I dont have on hand. Can you tell me how to estimate or reasonably guess the water temperature from the air temperature? Dalton Equation, E=b.v.(es-ea) in...

    Design of Gravity/Hollow Gravity Dam

GoldDredger, Your concern is correct. However,i dont see the danger of posting a problem for free discussion. Here ,its professionals who are discussing, and I think we are in the process of learning.Appologize if I miss your point.

    Design of Gravity/Hollow Gravity Dam

cvg, Thank you for your comment. The feasibility study is already conducted and a rock fill dam is found much cheaper. However, the steep topography at the right and left abutment creates difficulty for provission of separate spillway. What do you suggest if the spillway is made to partly run over...

    Design of Gravity/Hollow Gravity Dam

Dear Sirs, I am designing a small dam for an irrigation project in Ethiopia. At the selected dam site, the valley is V-shaped with 240m wide at the top and maximum depth of 67.5m.The foundation consists of sound rock overlain by shallow/colluvium deposits. Both the right and left abutments at the...

    Liquid Limit Test

Civilperson-what are you talking about.LL is the water content of the sample(of Casagrande cup) at which a 13mm grove takes 25 blows to close up.Therefore, you need to try many times till you get that value.

    Liquid Limit Test

You mean,it need not necessarily 25 but between 18 and 29 blow counts can represent LL? or any chart you can correlate the LL for blow counts other than 25.

    Liquid Limit Test

Can we determine liquid limit of a soil sample without going through so many trials as in Casagrande test?
