I have 32 gig of ram, heavy duty cache, 16 gig graphics card, but when ever I do a section in modeling, the model slow down to an almost unusable state.
question what setting do I have wrong as it is bad in every model (obviously worse in larger models)?
thanks

I am still getting this error, I have read several threads on this matter and tried then to no avail. moved WCS, changed tolerance, and still this frustrating error. I even exported it via part, Parasolid, iges, stp and still no luck.

in the past... you could model any style thread and send it to 3D printer, now you have no choice (this is a question not a statement) of the style of thread?? really with the current availability of 3d printers and Siemens decided to stop offering it??? is there a work around other than...
it has not self intersect, I deleted the phantom curves and recreated it and still nothing ...cannot even divide the curve or add point set...tried part clean up nothing. I can select it and it says line or spline but I start extrude and I can select 2 first curve, and then it wont select the...
but NX cannot select them (no matter the filter). If, without any any command selected, they show up as lines or splines (whatever) but will not extrude, divide, revolve, etc. If i preselect it and then select extrude (as an example) it says missing selection string. If i recreate it in this...

Again sorry for being so slow LOL... the PMI Version is what I am trying to use and I want to cut out 1/4 of a rectangular assy. I understand how to use the assembly cut method but with the PMI version I can create multiple views for the other engineers to use in PowerPoint. John show way but...
I am in NX 11... I can change the size of the box but the box subtracts everything and so I end up with 1/4 verse the 3/4 that I am looking for? I know I am doing something wrong because of what I see in john's example

I need to create a section view (in modeling) only instead of all through but a 90 degree cut(like other cad systems offer). I have an assembly which would like to show the cut half way thru in "X" and half thru in "Y" thus showing 3/4 of the assembly. Is this possible in NX 11?????
thanks...
I have done a successful arrangement in NX but when they take it to the structure manager, they appear to be getting all the components even the ones not used for that arrangement... How or can I correct this so that the BOM reflects only the arrangement?
Thanks in advance
