this phenomenon happened only on a spot over a surface, do you think it is possible that there is a small crack on the magnets?
Thanks
We have smoc5 magnets, D20x1mm, axil magnetised. Now we inspect the magnets with a gauss meter at both centre and peripheral saying 12, 3, 6, 9 clock, and found a few of them having both N and S on the same face. Here is a photo. Is there anyone who know why this happened?
Thanks.
Sam
If you are using rare earth material, the demagnizing level is very small according to your discribe. In the production, sometime we do "aging process" to the magnets, the magnetic property will be reduced by 3-5%, and after that, the magnets will be stablized. So i think your case will be less...
Regarding H-UH series, the main difference is HCJ and max. working temperature, here is the details:
H(HCJ>17KOe, max. working temp. 120centigrade)-SH(20KOe, 150centigrade)-UH(25KOe, 180centigrade)-EH(30KOe, 200centigrade)-AH(230centigrade)
The other magnetic property are almost the same. If you...
Hi everybody, I am working on a job which needs a NdFeB magnet with a coating in oil BOT 207. The max. workign temperature is about 170centigrade. I searched the web and only found this 207 is a BP Lubricant, there is no further information available. So I would much appreciate if someone who...
Thanks EdStainless, can you give me a suggestion on what coating will be better for such application? So we can find a direction to do some testing here.
Thank you Sreid for your information. I have another question: do you think it is possible to use SmCo magnet without coating in water (magnet is exposed to continuous water)?
Sreid: considering the possible high working temperature of Sm2Co17, do you think Parylene can stand for 300-350centigrade? Do you have any technical data available?
We have several questions about Sm2Co17 material.
1 How is its anti-corrosion capacity in water condition. how long will the magnet be corroded?
2 Is it necessary to coat the magnet? If yes, what is the best coating?
3 How about SmCo5, comparing with Sm2Co17.Because SmCo5 dont contain Fe...
Thanks all for your help. Sorry for my bad English. Electricpete, your assumption is correct that "the corrosion you are talking about occurred after core assembly but before the stator was wound?
", because we will ship the core assembly to our customer who will wind it at their end. And the...
We are facing a problem about the anti-corrosion of stator:
We use silicon steel and punch it to the shape we need. And then we will weld them together to form a stator about OD200mmx180mm Length.
Because there are many deep grooves on ID, we tried several coatings to protect the stator: Zn...

Dear MagMike, thank you for your help. Can you tell me what is the value of remanence relative permeability of N45H? The unity of the value is "T/A/m" (Tesla/Ampere/meter), is this a general value or not? And how to calculate this?
Edstainless: you are correct, the original design is using very old magnets back to 1970's. And now we want to find some other grade alnico magnets but have same gauss value (1150Gs). And according to our calculation, there are several options of alnico magnets, but now we are not sure even...
