Hi, Does anyone know if I can send COSMOSWORKS or FLOWORKS simulations to a linux based cluster for prosessing?
Thanks

Has anyone out there ever used MAT_26 for aluminum honeycomb??
any help with values to put in Card 1-5 would be great!
Thanks

I actually just had this same problem. There are a couple things you can try.
1) when opening, go to options and specify un-knitted surfaces(depending on how complex the graphic is, this may work)
2) use a secondary program to convert the stl to a nuber type file (IGES, ACIS, STEP ect.)...
thats exactly what we are doing, the core with its properties and the skin with its own properties. The reason for using the honeycomb is because it has very poor properties when loaded transversely, as it would be in a rear impact, which would mean that the automobile header (hardened steel)...
Very Good point about the height compatibility although larger SUVs, other large passenger vehicles, and commercial trucks do have the potential for windshield impact.
Also in LSdyna it is much easier to model a solid core with honeycomb designated properties (less modeling and meshing time as...
Thanks for the advice GBor
A client of the company is planning on making a honeycomb fairing which can be attached to the back end of semi trailers to reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency. Our company specializes in automotive safety and was hired to see how the fairing would change the...
I am really looking for a stress-strain curve so that lsdyna can accurately predict the failure mode, in which a quick internet search proves hard to find

I am trying to run a FloWorks analysis on a series of IGES surfaces that I have imported into solidworks. When I attempt to start a new project I get a message that states at least one component must be selected.
Any help on how I can run an analysis with an IGES file would be much...
Hi, I am doing a FE test in lsdyna which involves aluminum honeycomb panels being impacted by an automobile transversely. To model this correctly i need the core properties for an .5" thick aluminum core (multiple foil gauges and cell sizes would be great, although any would do as I just need a...
So I thought this was the solution, but even as surfaces FloWorks will not let me run an analysis on it, stating I need at least one component
What is the best way to go about running a FloWork analysis with an STL file?
Hi, I have received an .stl file from a colleague in which he would like me to run a FloWorks analysis on. My problem is that COSMOS will not recognize an STL file (my thought is that its not a nuber type file).
So my question is: can I convert the STL to another form that will be more...
Hi, I am working on an external flow with a relatively large computational domain, when i mesh with setting 3 the results are not as precise as I need, although when i mesh using setting 8 it takes more time then i would like to calculate the results. In my project there are only certain areas...
