Hi everyone,
I have a question relating to EN ISO 15848.
My question is: If I were purchasing valves that meet class B of the above standard, would each individual valve be tested or would the valve design be approved to the standard?
Any halp is appreciated.
Thanks,
stiffler
Dear all,
I am looking for some advice please.
What I am wanting to know is...are there any ball valve manufacturers who use PTFE body and stem seals on ANSI 600 and above?
Services to include:
Glycol, Natural gas, Hydrocarbons, Methanol
Ambient -46 to +200C teperature range
Thanks for any...
Subject completely deviated here but in my view, a quality, well designed floating ball valve does not need any preload. Cheaper manufacturers will squash the seats onto the ball to make up for irregular shaped balls and / or a lack of understanding.
In response to the original query, the...
Hi,
I contract in the valve service industry and I was wondering if anyone was aware of anywhere used valve industry equipment, machinery, test rigs etc. can be bought and sold. I have a couple of things such as a trevitest unit that are now surplus to my requirements and it seems like a...
As Gerhardl says, it's impossible to say for sure until all service information is assessed but I see no reason why a globe valve wouldn't work as a shut-off. it's not ideal but if the urgent situation required it, it could be done.
To improve positive seating, the valve can be installed in...
Thanks Donf,
I will try these 2 companies, I guess they will be able to advise on what exact infomation I need to get from the client.
The dead-man-handle thing confuses me still. These valves are all manual so it's not fail-close from a signal, as you say, it must be some kind if spring...
Guys,
I am looking at 25mm (1") manual globe valves for use on ammonia.
I have to find 40 or so of these valves for a new build project but I don't know where to start. My client mentioned 2 bolt Ammonia flanges - I have no idea what these are.
Temperature will be ambient, pressure will be...
Hello Jaffaotc,
I have a bit of past experience with sealant injection on gas and hydrocarbons service valves.
First of all, I must point out that I haven't used Valtek or Furmanite products for at least 5 years so improvements may have been made to these Sealants that I am unaware of.
The...
JohariGregorio,
I have to say, I agree with Valvit. If you need to ask the sort of questions that you are, I would suggest that you're taking on something that you are not prepared for.
I worked for a valve service company where we overhauled Borsig fully welded valves. It is expensive to do...
Can pilot operated relief valves be tested in-line like conventional spring ones can.
I've been looking at methods such as Furmanite's 'Trevitest' for in-line testing but it's un clear to me whether there's a method for testing pilots.
Thanks in advance,
Matt.
Is there any difference between a Pressure Safety Valve and a Safety Relief Valve?
or are these just 2 names for the same valve?
if there are differences, what are they please?
Thanks,
Matt.
Ah yes, thanks guys. it looks like the Adiabatic expansion route has been explored before. I will check out this past thread and hopefully come up with some answers.
now I know its's called Adiabatic expansion I can also look at what wikipedia has to say about it.
Thanks again,
Matt
I am completely new to this site, so first of all I'd like to say hi!
I am currently putting together some training information for new Engineers who have joined our valve servicing company who have little or no previous petrochemical experience.
The idea is to give them some basic information...
